WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?
A sound bath is a unique form of concert that instantly eliminates stress. It’s part guided relaxation and part concert. The participants lie down with their eyes closed throughout a one-hour listening experience.
WHY DO A SOUND BATH?
A sound bath can be described both as a “mindfulness hack” or a “sonic massage”.
It’s a way to reap the benefits of meditation – reduced stress, boosts in creativity, a general feeling of happiness – without actually meditating.
No prior experience with yoga, meditation or the like is required to benefit from at sound bath.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SOUND BATH?
Anders’ sound baths begin with a guided relaxation. As ambient sounds gently wash over the listener Anders delivers instructions on how to relax every particle of the body and simultaneously become more and more aware of the music on a phenomenological level. After twenty minutes or so, the volume is turned up and soft, pulsating sounds immerse the audience in an acoustic landscape of slowly unfolding patterns. Towards the end of the sonic journey, Anders instructs the audience on how to come out of deep relaxation, and slowly come back to everyday awareness.
After the sound bath there is the possibility to do a Q&A, where the participants can share their experiences and ask questions.
Anders is a Danish music producer, composer and meditation instructor based in Los Angeles.
Anders has an MA in Modern Culture from The University of Copenhagen. His master thesis was on meditation and music, the two main elements in his life.
As a musician, Anders has toured the world on several occasions and has performed at diverse venues such as Carnegie Museum of Art, Estonia’s national gallery (KUMU), The Roundhouse in London, The Coburg Velodrome in Melbourne as well as hundreds of clubs in Europe, the US and Australia.
Anders’ compositions have been featured in the motion picture “Submarino” by Academy Award and Palme d’Or nominated director Thomas Vinterberg, as the theme song in the critically acclaimed pan-European TV-show “The Bridge”, in glossy American TV-shows such as “Melrose Place” as well as late night documentaries on Danish and Swedish National TV.
Anders’ music has ended up 700.000 sold albums, including Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon II and Josh Groban’s All That Echoes, that peaked at #2 and #1 on the Billboard Album Chart, respectively.
As a producer and composer Anders’ clients have included Nordstrom, Kinder and Madison Square Garden.
Under his moniker, Dinner, Anders has released three albums on Captured Tracks.
Beginning in 2019 Anders will release a series of ten albums on Captured Tracks with meditation-music, sleep music, and ambient.
Anders has released two self-hypnosis cassettes and has led guided meditations in Los Angeles, Malibu, Australia, and Europe. He has also made an honest effort to meditate with Mac Demarco and written an article about live concerts as a meditative space for Talkhouse, and put German newspaper Die Welt into a state of deep relaxation.
