The Arquipélago – Contemporary Arts Center opens the exhibition No futuro também se usavam pincéis, by Margarida Andrade, on September 24 at 5 pm.

Margarida Andrade, a young Azorean artist, takes us on a journey she built from the Azores on the possibility of a 10th island and a civilization that inhabits it. It is a fiction that the artist builds through ceramic pieces, literature, findings and drawings and it is also a possibility to imagine a future or a past that is beyond our understanding.

As part of the project, Margarida Andrade wrote A Décima Ilha, a book that aims to alert to the imminent danger that climate change represents when associated with human (in)activity and which will be released on the opening day of the exhibition.
