APRIL: Month to RE-OCCUPY WITH GUIDED VISITS TO THE BUILDING

April was the month to RE-OCCUPY the space through an interaction between the team, the community and the audience. Guided tours through the different areas of the building included an explanation of the architectural design and of the assets of this cultural and artistic facility. In the exhibition rooms, the artist/director Pedro Sena Nunes showed three films – Instalações [Facilities], Imagens em Movimento [Moving Pictures] and Performance, as a filmic object that looks for a path between the space and an innovative and contemporary language. The audience had a chance to enjoy personalized assistance during a specialized visit that focused on the architecture of all parts of the building, especially because the Arquipélago – Contemporary Arts Centre was one of 40 projects shortlisted for the 2015 Mies Van der Rohe Prize.
