ARQUIPÉLAGO NOMINATED FOR MIES VAN DER RHOE AWARD

In February, the European Commission announced the list of 40 candidates selected for the 2015 European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award. The Arquipélago – Contemporary Arts Centre, along with the High Performance Rowing Centre in Vila Nova de Foz Coa, was one of two Portuguese projects on the shortlist.

The project was part of the list of works chosen by the jury, chaired by Italian architect Cino Zucchi, of what is considered to be the most important European award for architecture promoted by the Mies van der Rohe Foundation and the European Commission.

The Arquipélago was projected by João Mendes Ribeiro and Menos é Mais Arquitetos (Cristina Guedes and Francisco Vieira de Campos).
